Summary/Objective: Provides administrative support to Plant Management in the areas of personnel administration such as but not limited to: tracking employee attendance, recruiting/job advertisement, employment coordination and future staffing needs.

Essential Functions

  • Works with Plant Management to identify, anticipate and fulfill staffing needs for production.
  • Screens applications and assists plant management with the full cycle recruitment process.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions in areas of work comp, health insurance, 401k, payroll or any other related employment matters
  • Assists with administration of the performance review process
  • Creates and processes weekly personnel status changes.
  • Creates and distributes weekly reports including Manpower, Probation & other reports.
  • Attendance administration for production employees.
  • Performs new hire onboarding.
  • Coordinates all pre-employment screening such as skill tests, drug tests, reference checks and employment verifications.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Creates and maintains employee personnel files.
  • Administers E-Verify.
  • Addresses unemployment insurance claims.

High school diploma/general equivalency diploma (GED). 

Work Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of related experience.  A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Business Management or a closely related field and one year of related experience can substitute.

Specialized Knowledge

As outlined in the Core Competencies, an individual must have thorough knowledge and an advanced understanding of each competency outlined above in order to carry out the essential functions of this position.  Specialized Knowledge is also required in the following areas:  Employment laws such as Wage and Hour, EEO Title VII, I9 administration, unemployment processing, and workers compensation.  Ability to fluently communicate in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Software & Technology

Position will require the frequent use of MS Windows 7 and/or MS Windows 10, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook and Blue Beam PDF Software.  Working experience with KRONOS and/or Microsoft Dynamics AX is a strongly preferred.

Work Environment

Position requires as many hours needed to fulfill the daily and weekly obligations required to carry out the functions.  Working long days including evenings and weekends can be required for this position.  This position is indoors and may sit for long periods of eight (8) hours or more per day.  Occasionally this position may require need to be outdoors for short periods of time.  Position is in a highly industrial work environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
