Critical to the needs of our Contracts Department, the Sub Contracts Manager will manage a team of Administrators, oversee the preparation and negotiation of Sub-tier Agreements, review all Sub-tier Agreements for compliance, and be responsible for signing all Agreements.

Core Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list of duties/expectations)

  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager to manage and support a Team of Administrators in the preparation of Sub-tier Agreements for all Schuff locations.
  • Review, approve and sign all prepared Agreements.
  • Facilitate the resolution of disputes with Sub-tiers to ensure optimal contract compliance.
  • Prepare Project Specific Exhibits to ensure compliance with the terms of the General and Prime Contracts.
  • Utilize standard templates to prepare, process and issue Sub-tier Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Consulting Agreements, associated Project specific Exhibits and subsequent Change Orders.
  • Collect, verify for compliance, log and file Certificates of Insurance and related documentation.
  • Review documents received from Sub-tiers for compliance and remove various halt codes prior to release of Sub-tier payments
  • Assist Risk Management with record keeping of OCIP and CCIP insurance programs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Schuff Project Management, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Consultants.
  • Provide support to the Sales Department by facilitating, preparing and submitting Customer Pre-qualification forms.
  • Train new-hires with the roles, responsibilities and task processes.
  • Provide administrative support to Contracts Manager as needed and directed.
  • Software - MS Windows 7 and/or MS Windows 10, MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Kronos TKS, Primavera, Bluebeam and DocuSign.


Education and Experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related contracts administrative experience within the construction industry and two (2) years of managerial experience. Experience with certificates of insurance is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for four (4) of the eight (8) years required. Ongoing training education in software applications including MS Word and MS Office 2010 or higher.
