The PCAM will be responsible to supervise CNC drill line and plasma programmers and to provide short and long-term shop schedules for saws, drill line, and the structural fabrication shop.  The PCAM will also attend production and staff meetings to acquire and communicate pertinent information as to the status of each project.

Core Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list of duties/expectations)

  • Assist Production Control Manger in day to day supervision of department personnel in assigned region
  • Approve vacation and time off requests, review and approve time cards
  • Attend internal production meetings in order to determine priority tasking and special project requirements
  • Communicate with Plant Managers to set overall work schedule for the department in assigned region
  • Communicate with Project Managers to establish project requirements and schedule
  • Review fabrication plans and hold meetings with department personnel to kick-off new projects and assign work appropriately
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and resource overloading to meet the organization's overall project specific objectives
  • Prepare routine productivity reports for senior management
  • Update and analyze department metrics
  • Assist with writing departmental policies and procedures
  • Review departmental processes for duplication of effort/waste and propose new processes to streamline
  • Read and interpret design drawings, fabrication drawings, CNC data files, and bills of material in order to assist department personnel in accomplishing specific tasks

Software, Technology and Equipment

Personal computer; phone; computer software includes: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook, MS Projects, MRP systems (StruMIS), Kronos

Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or business related field a plus, but not necessarily required
  • Seven years of experience in the fabrication industry, three of which include a role in a supervisory position
